What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Site Selection Specialist, you are the front line of our mission. Your focus is on finding ideal
locations for donation drop boxes and building relationships with property owners who want to
make a difference in their communities. You’ll spend much of your time on the road, meeting
business owners, scouting potential sites, and helping to make charitable giving easy for local
donors.
Your Responsibilities Include:
● Identify and secure locations for donation drop boxes across your territory.
● Cold call, email, and meet with business owners, property managers, and community
organizations to secure free site placement approvals.
● Conduct 20 site visits per day, with a focus on high-impact locations.
● Record all activity in the company CRM accurately and in real time.
● Travel frequently across your assigned territory (minimum 2 weeks per month; schedule
may vary).
● Walk properties, take photos, and assess site layouts for best bin placements.
● Compete against existing donation bin operators to win and secure site placements.
● Evaluate site potential based on traffic patterns, accessibility, and projected donation
volume.
● Own and develop your donation bin territory as a business, building a pipeline of future
sites.
● Represent Common Threads with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
● High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
● Minimum 2 years of outside sales, business development, or relationship-building
experience.
● Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
● Ability to work independently, manage your territory, and meet weekly goals.
● Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
● Positive, professional, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset.
● Ability to spend 6-8 hours per day in the field.
● Comfortable with rejection and persistent follow-up to close agreements.
Minimum Age Requirement:
● Must be at least 21 years of age.
Travel:
● Frequent travel required (minimum 2 weeks per month)
● This role requires being on the road daily, traveling between potential sites to meet with
business owners, property managers, and community partners. Candidates should be
prepared for significant driving as a core part of their day-to-day responsibilities.
Work Type/Location:
● Charlotte, NC-based, with regular territory travel
